There is a daily five-letter word that starts with a clue and will give you up to two more if you ask, a daily set of sixteen words to sort into four hidden groups, and an endless Journey through chapters for anyone who wants to keep going. Being stuck with a friend is handled too: a link puts someone else on your board, live, typing alongside you from anywhere. The Journey keeps playing without a signal and syncs when you are back, it installs from the browser, and sharing is spoiler-free.
